Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages over 36,000km of distribution networks, more than 4,300km of transmission pipelines and 60 petajoules of storage capacity. We employ over 500 team members and manage a contractor workforce of approximately 1600, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

About the opportunity
AGIG is seeking a detailed-oriented and collaborative Risk & Insurance Officer to join our Corporate and Regulation Team. This role will work closely with the Insurance Advisor and broader business to support insurance renewals, claims coordination, and the ongoing enhancement of AGIG’s risk management framework.
You will contribute to the development and implementation of a consistent, enterprise-wide risk management approach that helps support decision-making and the long-term sustainability of AGIG.
Key Responsibilities
- Collate national information for annual insurance renewals, support the placement of project insurances, and drive improvements to streamline insurance data collection processes.
- Prepare and organise data for a range of insurance policies to support renewals, reporting, and decision-making.
- Coordination of claims both in-house and through the insurance broker
- Support improvements to insurance processes and management of the national insurance portfolio
- Maintain risk management database registers, ESG frameworks, and risk systems
- Assist with risk policies, business continuity, crisis training, and governance reporting (Committees and Board Papers)
About you
- Relevant tertiary qualification (e.g. Corporate Governance, Legal, Commerce or similar)
- Experience supporting risk frameworks, governance reporting, or insurance processes
- Prior experience in the insurance industry (highly regarded)
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
- High attention to detail, organisation and analytical capability
