About the Opportunity

This is an opportunity to contribute to the security and resilience of AGIG’s technology environment by ensuring security is considered at every stage of project delivery. Reporting to our Senior Cyber Security Architect, you will review solution designs, support project teams, and help ensure security architecture, controls, and policies are effectively applied in a practical and sustainable way.

 

You will collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders across projects, technology teams, and external partners, providing clear and accessible security guidance. The role combines technical expertise with stakeholder engagement and continuous improvement, making it well suited to someone who enjoys working in an evolving environment and contributing to positive, secure outcomes.

 

This role is also flexible in its location and can be based in Adelaide, Melbourne or Perth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct detailed security reviews of system architecture, solution designs, and project documentation
  • Review as-built documentation and technology implementations to ensure alignment with security standards
  • Provide ongoing security advice and input throughout project delivery
  • Work with project teams to identify, assess, and support remediation of security vulnerabilities
  • Facilitate and coordinate security testing with external providers at appropriate project stages
  • Contribute to the continual improvement, development, and maturity of the Cyber Security Architecture function, including processes, standards, artifacts and capabilities.
  • Review project-related technology change requests from a security perspective
  • Support project teams with security-related effort and cost estimates for business cases
  • Help ensure alignment with AGIG security architecture, policies, and frameworks
  • Contribute to the implementation of security controls across technology systems
  • Undertake other reasonable duties as required

About You

  • Degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Experience in cyber security architecture and/or broader cyber security disciplines
  • Strong understanding of IT risk assessment, risk management, and security practices
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to a range of audiences, including non-technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of network security, infrastructure security, anti-malware solutions, and encryption
  • Understanding of cyber security frameworks such as NIST CSF, AESCSF, ISO 27001, or similar
  • Experience working in regulated or complex environments (desirable)
  • Familiarity with Operational Technology (OT) security concepts (desirable)
  • Relevant cyber security certifications (advantageous)
