About the Opportunity
We are looking for a curious and motivated Graduate SCADA & Operational Technology (OT) Engineer to join our supportive SCADA and OT Systems team within Distribution Operations.
Reporting to the Team Leader – SCADA & OT Systems, this is a great opportunity to start your engineering career in a collaborative environment where you’ll be supported to learn, ask questions and build your confidence and technical capability.
You will support the operation, maintenance and continuous improvement of our SCADA and OT systems, while gaining hands-on experience across field telemetry, industrial communications, data historians, infrastructure and OT cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance, monitoring and troubleshooting of SCADA and associated OT systems, with guidance from experienced team members.
- Assist with RTUs, field telemetry and industrial communications, including DNP3, Modbus and TCP/IP.
- Contribute to the configuration, testing and commissioning of SCADA, RTU and communications changes.
- Support OT data historian administration, data analysis, operational reporting and cybersecurity activities.
- Maintain clear technical documentation and contribute to system upgrades, patching, lifecycle and change management activities.
- Collaborate with the SCADA and OT Systems team and broader business to build your knowledge, share ideas and identify opportunities for improvement.
About You
- You have recently completed, or are working towards completing, a degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Automation or a related discipline.
- You’re curious about SCADA, industrial automation and Operational Technology and keen to grow your knowledge in these areas.
- You bring strong analytical and problem-solving skills and enjoy learning how systems and technologies work.
- You’re a collaborative communicator who is comfortable asking questions, sharing ideas and learning from others.
- You have some exposure to scripting or programming languages and are interested in continuing to develop your technical skills.
- You have a basic understanding of networking and TCP/IP, with exposure to Windows Server, SQL or industrial networking welcomed but not essential.
