Australian Gas Infrastructure Group (AGIG) owns, operates and invests in infrastructure which delivers gas to more than two million homes and businesses, and is one of the largest gas infrastructure businesses in Australia. AGIG manages distribution networks, transmission pipelines and storage capacity. AGIG recently grew to over 1300 employees. We also manage a large contractor workforce, who provide both specialist and operating and maintenance services on AGIG’s gas distribution networks.

As our Communications Advisor, you will play an important role in shaping how our people stay informed, engaged and aligned as we work towards becoming Australia’s leading gas infrastructure business. Working closely with teams across the country, you will help bring stories to life, create meaningful connections across the organisation and support the way we work collaboratively and consistently as One Team.
Reporting to the Communications Manager, this role leads the development and delivery of internal communications that connect our people and support engagement across the organisation. You will also contribute to external communications that showcase AGIG’s projects, people and strategy.
This role can be based in Adelaide or Melbourne, with flexibility in location across these offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Create clear, timely and engaging internal communications that help our people understand priorities, access information and feel connected across AGIG.
- Lead the development of internal communications materials including newsletters, documents, videos and presentations.
- Write, edit and manage All Staff Emails to ensure clarity, consistency and alignment with organisational priorities.
- Provide day-to-day management and strategic input for the OneNet intranet, including content creation and optimisation.
- Lead and manage the business-wide communications calendar.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the communications team to develop external communications including: Public-facing reports, Website and social media content, Customer collateral, Speeches, presentations and key messages and Corporate brochures and publications
- Provide high-quality writing and editing support across the business, including developing graphic and visual materials where required.
- Support the management of AGIG’s brand and style guidelines to ensure consistency across communications.
- Coordinate AGIG’s Town Hall (all staff) meetings to help ensure accurate and timely information is shared.
- Assist with the development of materials that promote our people and achievements, including award submissions, presentations, community engagement materials and reports.
- Manage and maintain AGIG’s corporate and internal photo libraries to ensure accessibility and brand consistency.
- Support external communications by assisting with the daily media summary when required.
- Contribute to the management of AGIG’s corporate publications.
- Maintain awareness of AGIG’s environmental and social targets, supporting communications that contribute to our pathway to net zero.
About You
- Qualifications in Communications, Media or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Experience in internal communications, including content development and channel management.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- Experience developing communications strategies, including organisational and issue-based approaches.
- Ability to design and deliver communications across print and digital channels.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build effective working relationships.
- Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud applications such as InDesign, Photoshop or Premiere Pro.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills to produce high-quality documents and presentations.
- Experience working with SharePoint Online environments.
- Knowledge or experience in the energy sector would be an advantage.
